Google Lens has introduced a new feature called "Speak now to ask about this image", allowing users to record videos and add voice context to their searches. This enhancement aims to refine search results by incorporating audio context directly into the search process. Users can press and hold the search button to record a video with Lens, adding relevant audio context, which will then be considered in the search results.
The feature is already rolling out widely for Android users, appearing as a server-side push. Users should ensure they have the latest Google app and Lens build to access this feature. The rollout has been relatively quick, with the feature being spotted in development in June and now available on many Android devices.
Google has been continuously innovating ways to add context to searches on Android. Recently, it introduced a grid view in Lens for easier access to past image search history and is reportedly working on bringing Circle to Search functionality to Google Lens.
