Google has introduced AI content detection tools within the Gemini app to enhance content transparency by allowing users to verify if videos were created or edited using Google AI. Users can upload videos (up to 100 MB and 90 seconds long) and ask if the content was generated by Google AI. Gemini scans for the imperceptible SynthID watermark in both audio and visual tracks, then provides detailed feedback specifying which segments contain AI-generated elements, such as: “SynthID detected within the audio between 10-20 secs. No SynthID detected in the visuals.” This verification feature for both images and videos is now available in all languages and countries supported by the Gemini app.
