Brazil’s Supreme Court has allowed Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, to resume operations in the country, concluding a prolonged dispute with Brazilian authorities. The ban was initially imposed because X refused to remove certain user accounts and lacked a legal representative in Brazil. Musk eventually agreed to these conditions, leading to the platform's reinstatement.
For five weeks, Brazilian courts had ordered internet service providers to block access to X due to its non-compliance with court orders. Musk accused the Supreme Court of censoring conservative voices but ultimately complied with the court's demands.
In September, X briefly went back online by switching to Cloudflare as its cloud service provider, which Cloudflare’s CEO described as a "coincidence." This maneuver cost Musk nearly $2 million.
