When shoppers are online, choosing the right store can be challenging. The new store widget powered by Google provides essential information directly on a merchant's website, helping to convert shopper hesitation into sales. It addresses two key challenges for ecommerce retailers: enhancing visibility and establishing legitimacy. Businesses utilizing the store widget have experienced up to 8% higher sales within 90 days compared to those without it.
Adding the Store Widget
The store widget is a dynamic and interactive element that can be embedded on any page of an existing website. It showcases the store's quality through visual indicators and includes the store rating on Google, along with shipping and return policies, and customer reviews. The widget updates automatically with current store quality ratings, helping to build trust with potential customers when displayed on homepages or product pages.
Widget Tiers
There are three tiers of the store widget based on eligibility:
- Top Quality store widget: For businesses with Top Quality status, highlighting their commitment to a high-quality shopping experience.
- Store rating widget: For businesses with a high Google store rating but not yet top-quality.
- Generic store widget: For stores working towards earning these badges.
Retailer Participation
Retailers without the store widget can learn how to enable it. For questions or concerns, they can reach out via the Google Merchant Center Community or on LinkedIn.
