YouTube has announced several new features for creators, including "Take a Break" ads for livestreams and easier access to subscriber lists through channel pages.
New "See Your Subscribers" Entry Point
Beginning this week, YouTube is gradually rolling out a new feature that allows channel owners with more than four subscribers to view their subscriber list directly from their channel page. This new "See Your Subscribers" entry point will display subscribers sorted by recency.
The feature comes with privacy considerations in place - only subscribers who have chosen to publicly subscribe to a channel will be visible in this list. Additionally, this information remains private to the channel owner, as viewers will not have access to this data.
Previously, creators could only access their subscriber list through Studio Desktop via the dashboard's recent subscribers card. The feature is now being extended to the main YouTube app on both iOS and Android platforms.
Improved Analytics Differentiation
YouTube is enhancing Studio Mobile by introducing clearer visual distinctions between content-specific analytics and channel analytics. The update includes an additional thumbnail next to detailed content headers for videos and podcasts, making it easier for creators to navigate between different types of analytical data.
"Take a Break" Ads for Livestreamers
Perhaps the most significant addition is the new "Take a Break" ads feature for livestreamers. This functionality allows creators to take short breaks during livestreams for 1, 3, or 5 minute increments while maintaining viewer engagement.
During these breaks, creators can choose between:
- A default away slate
- A video from their existing playlists
This feature also offers monetization opportunities, as eligible viewers will be shown midroll ads during these break periods, allowing creators to generate revenue during downtime.
The announcement was made by Lauren, a program manager on YouTube's product team and producer of Creator Insider, during their regular "Newsuesday" update segment.
