Introducing Advanced Chat Privacy, a new feature on WhatsApp designed to enhance the protection of sensitive conversations. Building on the existing end-to-end encryption, which ensures only the sender and recipient can access messages and calls, this feature adds multiple layers of privacy, including disappearing messages and chat lock.
With Advanced Chat Privacy, users can prevent others from exporting chats, auto-downloading media, and using messages for AI features. This setting is particularly useful in group chats where members may not know each other well, such as support groups discussing health issues or community organizing.
To activate this feature, users can tap the chat name and select Advanced Chat Privacy. This initial version is being rolled out to all users on the latest WhatsApp version, with plans for further enhancements in the future.
