TikTok is incentivizing users to engage more with the app as it faces a potential ban in the US on January 19. The platform is offering users up to $400 in TikTok Shop credits for activities such as inviting friends, daily app check-ins, and browsing products. A recent court ruling supports the possibility of a nationwide ban, prompting TikTok to enhance user engagement and shopping habits.
Users can earn $50 for each new user they recruit, with additional bonuses available for bringing in more users. Daily check-ins and viewing TikTok Shop items also contribute to earnings, along with $80 in coupons after making purchases.
Despite regulatory challenges, TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, is determined to grow its e-commerce presence. The goal is to increase merchandise sales through TikTok Shop to $17.5 billion, having already seen a significant rise in US sales, which tripled to over $100 million during Black Friday. TikTok Shop has also expanded to Spain as part of a broader European rollout.
