Facebook has introduced a new video player with several features:

• Full-screen videos: All videos will now appear full-screen, including landscape-oriented ones.
• Vertical autoplay: Videos will automatically play vertically, but users can turn their phones to watch horizontal content in full view.
• Slider control: A slider at the bottom of the screen allows users to quickly navigate through the video.
• Skip options: Similar to Netflix, users can jump forward or backward by 10 seconds.
• Improved recommendations: More relevant video recommendations will appear on the video tab and in users' feeds.
• Increased Reels: There will be a higher number of Reels shown on Facebook.

The updated Facebook video player is rolling out now to Android and iOS users in the United States and Canada, with the new controls launching in the next few weeks. The entire update is expected to be available globally in the coming months.

California State Assemblyman Matt Haney introduced AB 2751, a 'right to disconnect' bill. If passed, it would require employers in California to:

• Clearly define an employee's work hours.
• Ensure employees are not required to respond to work-related communications outside of these hours.
• Specify any time periods where salaried employees might need to work longer hours in their contracts.

This bill aims to protect workers from being expected to be available outside of their designated work hours.

Assemblyman Matt Haney believes it's fitting for California, as the creator of many technologies used in the workplace, to introduce legislation that makes the use of these technologies sustainable and updates protections for employees in the current times.
