TikTok Shop has introduced a new badging system to help shoppers identify trusted and reliable sellers, enhancing transparency and trust on the platform. The system includes four new badges—Official Shop, Authorized Seller, Gold Star Seller, and Silver Star Seller—alongside the existing Top Brand badge. Each shop can display only one badge at a time.
Badge Types and Eligibility
- Gold Star Seller and Silver Star Seller replace the previous Star Shop badge and are intended for independent sellers such as small businesses, artists, and makers.
- To qualify for these badges, shops must meet criteria including:
- Uploading a shop logo
- Maintaining a Shop Performance Score (SPS) of 90% or higher
- Achieving a positive product feedback rate of 80% or more
- Having at least one active product listing
Qualified shops also display detailed performance stats like the percentage of orders shipped within two days and response times to customer inquiries, helping shoppers make informed decisions.
- Official Shop and Authorized Seller badges are awarded based on business type and indicate that a shop is qualified to sell branded products. These sellers, along with those holding the Top Brand badge, show a blue checkmark to confirm verification by TikTok Shop, ensuring authenticity and quality.
Purpose of Multiple Badge Types
The variety of badges allows TikTok to highlight different seller qualities and lets shoppers choose badges based on what matters most to them. Badges are not permanent; sellers’ eligibility is regularly reviewed, and badges can be updated or revoked based on performance changes.
Badge Appearance and Integration
The new badges will appear across TikTok Shop content, including LIVEs, product detail pages, short videos, and search results. Users can click on badge icons for detailed explanations. This integration aims to improve the shopping experience by building confidence in the sellers and products found on TikTok Shop.
