TikTok has introduced "Content Check", a new preventative feature that allows creators to verify their content against Community Guidelines before posting.
The new tool enables users to proactively scan their content for potential violations, helping maintain their account standing. TikTok aims to provide results within 24 hours of submission.
Content Violation Outcomes
When potential violations are detected, TikTok implements two primary actions:
- Complete Removal: Posts that severely violate guidelines will be removed entirely
- Limited Visibility: Some posts may be published but remain visible only to the creator
Creators who receive violations will need to edit and resubmit their content to meet TikTok's Community Guidelines.
The platform has implemented an automatic settings retention feature - when creating new posts, the system will default to the user's previous content check preferences.
TikTok emphasizes that passing the content check does not guarantee permanent posting rights. Posts that initially pass the automated check may still be removed later if found to violate Community Guidelines through other detection methods.
