TikTok has launched AI Alive, a new feature that animates still images into dynamic videos within TikTok Stories, enhancing creativity for over a billion users. This innovative tool allows creators to transform static photos into engaging short-form videos using intelligent editing tools, making it accessible to users of all editing skill levels.
With AI Alive, users can animate photos to create visually rich stories. For example, a serene sunset can be turned into a cinematic clip with shifting hues and ambient sounds, while group selfies can be animated to highlight gestures and expressions.
To use AI Alive, users can access the Story Camera, select a photo, and utilize the AI Alive icon for editing. Once posted, these animated stories can be viewed in the For You and Following feeds, as well as on the user's profile.
TikTok emphasizes safety with AI Alive, implementing trust and safety checks to prevent policy violations. Moderation technology reviews uploaded photos and prompts, and a final check occurs before posting. AI-generated stories will be labeled for transparency and will include C2PA metadata to identify AI-generated content, ensuring community safety and integrity.
