Looker Studio Introduces Content Reporting Feature and Performance Enhancements
Report Abuse Functionality Added
Google has introduced a new report abuse feature in Looker Studio, allowing report viewers to flag inappropriate content. The system includes automated content review capabilities, with reported abusive material being either hidden or removed from the platform.
BigQuery Data Source Performance Improvements
Looker Studio users may experience enhanced performance when working with reports that utilize BigQuery data sources. Google has implemented several optimizations to improve query response times and overall user experience.
Short Query Optimized Mode
The BigQuery connector now supports short query optimized mode, a feature designed to prioritize immediate results for queries that BigQuery determines can be completed quickly. Instead of creating a traditional BigQuery job, this mode focuses on delivering faster response times.
This optimization activates under specific conditions:
- When the data source utilizes Viewer's Credentials
- When the data source uses Owner's Credentials but the current user is not the credential owner
The performance enhancement maintains consistent user experience and report functionality for data source credential owners, with no changes to existing workflows or report behavior.
