LinkedIn has launched Zip, a new in-app puzzle game aimed at enhancing user engagement. This addition to LinkedIn Games is designed to challenge problem-solving skills by having players connect numbers in a grid while using every cell. Since the introduction of games last year, millions of professionals have participated, with 84% returning daily and 80% continuing to play after a week.
Zip is positioned as an accessible warm-up for fans of existing games like Queens and Tango, offering simple rules that can be learned quickly while still providing a mental workout. The game features daily grids crafted by Thomas Snyder, a three-time World Sudoku Champion, with increasing difficulty throughout the week. An intelligent hint tool is available to assist players with challenging puzzles.
Players can access Zip on mobile and desktop browsers, as well as on iOS and Android apps, with an update required for older app versions.
Additionally, LinkedIn has introduced several features to enhance gameplay:
Streak Freezes: Players can earn streak freezes after every five wins, allowing them to maintain their streak if they miss a day.
LinkedIn Games Widget: This widget for iOS and Android helps users track their daily game progress easily.
Leaderboards: Company and school leaderboards enable players to see how their scores contribute to their organization's ranking, fostering friendly competition and conversation.
LinkedIn Games provide a unique professional context, allowing users to engage in a fun way that promotes connection and mental refreshment.
