Today, Facebook is launching two new features for Facebook Dating: Dating Assistant and Meet Cute, aimed at enhancing user connections without the need for endless swiping. Each month, hundreds of thousands of young adults (ages 18-29) in the US and Canada create profiles, with a 10% increase in matches year over year.
Your Dating Assistant
The Dating Assistant is a chat tool that provides personalized support in finding matches based on individual interests and preferences. Users can input unique prompts, such as “Find me a Brooklyn girl in tech,” to refine their search beyond traditional criteria. The assistant also offers dating ideas and profile enhancement tips. It will be available in the Matches tab and will gradually roll out in the US and Canada.
Meet Cute
Meet Cute simplifies the dating process by automatically matching users with a surprise match through a personalized algorithm. Users can choose to chat or unmatch, making it a convenient option for those weary of swiping. Initial matches will occur weekly, with potential for more frequent options in the future, and users can opt-out at any time.
These features aim to combat swipe fatigue and enhance the Facebook Dating experience, making it easier and more enjoyable to meet new people.
