YouTube Music is testing a new AI feature that enables users to generate unique radio stations using text-based prompts. This experimental tool allows users to describe their desired music, and the AI creates a radio station with similar songs. Previously, users could only create radios based on a song or an artist.
YouTube Music AI Radio Station Spotted in Testing
A Reddit user, u/kater_pro, discovered this feature, which is marked as experimental, and shared the screenshot below. The feature allows users to write a prompt to instantly generate a custom radio station. This is the only known report about the feature, so its testing scope is unclear.
The feature includes a playlist title, a short description, and multiple songs related to the user's theme. Prompt suggestions for other music genres are also displayed. Users without access to this feature can still create standard radio channels by selecting a song or artist, with the algorithm recommending similar songs. If successful, the feature may roll out to more beta testers and eventually to all YouTube Music users.
