Google has made significant updates to AdMob Mediation, enhancing management, flexibility, search capabilities, and automation for developers managing ad sources and optimizing mediation setups.
Simplified Mediation Setup and Management
The updates improve tracking and management of mediation groups by introducing features such as:
- Tracking minimum price for ads across networks through network eCPM entry during ad unit mapping.
- Automatic suggestions for line items by AdMob when adding ad units to mediation groups, based on existing mappings.
Increased Flexibility in Ad Source Management
AdMob now allows management of mediation ad source instances directly from the ad sources tab, which simplifies:
- Adding ad unit mappings.
- Deleting waterfall or bidding ad source instances in mediation groups.
Users can access detailed management information from their ad source page.
Improved Search and Filtering
Enhanced search and filtering capabilities have been added to the Waterfall and Bidding ad source tabs, facilitating easier location of ad unit mappings. Users can now search using:
- App name or ID
- Ad unit name or ID
- Network app name or ID
- Network ad unit name or ID
Automated Tasks
To minimize manual input and errors, AdMob has automated various tasks. Users no longer need to manually enter mapping or setup details for each ad source, as AdMob will suggest line items based on prior mappings. Additionally, users can now copy elements such as:
- Ad source credentials
- Ad units
- Mappings
- Segments
- Mediation groups
