Google is expanding its AI Overviews in Search to over 100 countries, reaching more than 1 billion users monthly. This feature, which simplifies finding information and connecting with publishers, businesses, and creators, has received positive feedback since its launch in May and initial expansion beyond the U.S. in August.
Starting this week, AI Overviews will roll out in over 100 countries and territories, with support for multiple languages including English, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. This allows users to access AI Overviews in their preferred language regardless of their location.
Google has introduced new ways to display links to relevant websites within AI Overviews, such as right-hand link displays on desktop and in-line links within the text. These updates have increased traffic to supporting websites. Ads will continue to appear in dedicated slots, clearly labeled to distinguish them from organic results. Ads in AI Overviews are now available for mobile users in the U.S. on relevant queries.
AI Overviews are part of Google’s broader effort to expand the types of questions users can ask and to make it easier to explore content online.
