The Hampton AI Founder Report reveals that 63% of surveyed companies, which on average make $8.3MM a year, are only using off-the-shelf AI tools. These are tools that are readily available to everyone. While it's not recommended for every company to build/train their own AI models, it's crucial for businesses to apply AI to their unique context and problems. Using the same tools as everyone else limits this application. Contrary to popular belief, building custom tools on top of AI models isn't overly complex. There are increasing methods to do so, such as using LangChain or Vercel GenAI. It's important for companies to differentiate themselves in this aspect.
