Anthropic has launched the Claude Android app to expand the reach of its AI chatbot and encourage users to switch from ChatGPT. The app mirrors the functionality of the iOS version released in May, offering free access to the Claude 3.5 Sonnet AI model, with additional features available through Pro and Team subscriptions.

Users can sync conversations across devices, upload photos or files for real-time image analysis, and utilize real-time language translation.
