Snowflake's New Arctic AI Outperforms Meta's Llama 3 with Half the Training

Snowflake has launched an open-source AI model, Arctic, surpassing Meta's Llama 3 in efficiency at enterprise tasks like SQL coding. Arctic matches or exceeds Llama 3 8B and Llama 2 70B on enterprise metrics, using less than half the training compute budget. The model and its code are released under the Apache 2.0 open-source license. Arctic is now available on Snowflake's Cortex offering and soon on Amazon AWS, Hugging Face, and other platforms.
