OpenAI may be moving away from numerical naming for its AI models, as suggested by a recent presentation in Paris. At the VivaTech conference, Romain Huet displayed a slide indicating future AI model growth without mentioning GPT-5. The slide showed the GPT-3-era, GPT-4-era, and "today" leading to GPT-Next, hinting at a shift from the GPT-5 brand. CEO Sam Altman has also been non-committal about the model's release.
